Dipping and Double-Dipping

Dipping food into anything is Taylor's new fascination. He love to dip anything! Sometimes he'll eat a corn dog for lunch so I'll cut it up into small pieces and he'll feed himself. I'll cook a corn dog for myself so we'll eat it together, but I dip mine in ketchup and a little mustard. Taylor starting noticing this and would pick up his food and hand it to me to dip it for him. He's been asking for it so much that I gave him his own "dippie" on his plate. He loves it! He thinks he is so big, but I've found that I've created a monster. Last night we went out to dinner and I had fries and he was eating a roll, and he wanted it dipped in ketchup. Today Matt and I had grilled cheese and tomato soup while Taylor had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, which he decided needed to be dipped in tomato soup the same way his dad dips his own grilled cheese in it. He doesn't really care what the food is or what you're dipping in it, if it's being done he wants in. Here are some pictures for proof!

Atleast he licks the excess off his fingers so there's not a huge mess!

My Scholar

So at 14 months 2 weeks and a few days old Taylor has really been showing us how smart he is. To prove my point, here are two examples. First, he pulls every book he has off his shelves and then proceeds to read them. He sounds out the words and points like I do as he reads to show me which words, or sometimes pictures, he is reading to me.

Second, yesterday a friend of mine came over to the house and Taylor was showing off big time. Running around, pushing his toys and showing her how he can "stand" on his head. He then decides to walk around with his blanket completely covering his head. He looks down so he can see his feet, but that's it. We're both laughing he starts laughing and walks slowly around the house until he runs into something and falls down giggling. Should I start filling out ivy league applications now or wait a few years? At least he keeps me entertained!
