I am very grateful for an active baby that I never have to wonder if he's doing ok in there. (Trying to be more positive...slowly but surely!)

Drummer Boy

For the most part I don't mind being pregnant. I LOVE to sleep and really miss it when I'm deprived of it. I don't like the stretch marks that I get or the uncomfortablness I feel all the time, but I can get through all that stuff. It's the constant drumming on my bladder that drives me crazy!!!! Baby doesn't like to play with it unless it's empty which I should probably be thankful for, but when it's empty it's almost like there's an echo in it when he beats out a little song. (anyone know what I'm talking about?) I feel like it's reverberating in there. It's the worst when it's 11:00 at night and you're already tired from the very little sleep you got the night before... as is the case right now! Hopefully he'll be done soon and I can go to sleep. I tried to push on him to get him to move and even did a handstand to see if he'd "float away" from it but no such luck. Anyone know of any tricks I can try for relief?

"We Thank Thee, O God, for a Prophet"

The Prophet of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints passed away last night. President Gordon B. Hinckley has served as propet since 1995 and has worked for the church since graduating from college. His example will be missed for he truly was a disciple of Christ. I loved him so much and know that he was called of God to lead us. Thank you President Hinckly for your love and example, we will miss you.

The Great Winter Storm of 2008

So moving from Utah and hearing my parents snow stories from Colorado, snow doesn't bother me that much. In the Carolinas that is definetely NOT the case! Last week we were slowly getting colder and then on Wednseday night/Thurs. morning we were supposed to get some precipitation. The low was supposed to be around 29 so most likely we'd get some snow. The entire area basically shut down! Two hours away they closed two major roads just in case there was any swno, they just didn't want anyone getting hurt. All the schools were threatening to close for the day and businesses too. All the Elementary school kids wore their clothes backwards on Wed. so that it would snow and school coudl be cancelled for Thurs.(weird wive's tale huh?!?)
The final verdict, we did get snow, about 1 1/2 inches at our house and Matt got to sleep in, so that was nice. Charlotte cancelled the entire day of school and TONS of businesses were closed, but Rock Hill schools only had a two-hour delay. It was really funny though to see how much people freaked out about it. There was probably a rush on food at the grocery store just in case. I wasn't there... thank goodness for the prophet's wise words about food storage, we made it through! :)

So it's time...

I've been putting off the blog for a while now because... well, I was lazy and Taylor takes 1 2-hour nap a day and there are A TON of other things I would like to do with that time. But now that the holidays are over and we're getting settled back in from traveling across the country and back again, I figured I should write. I sent out Christmas cards and hopefully they made it to everyone they should have. In the letter there was some pretty big news for our family this year. We're adding to our crew in May. Taylor is going to be a big brother to another little boy. I'm almost 23 weeks along and really showing it! I haven't taken any pictures yet, but once I do I'll put them up. (at the request of my sister) Our due date is May 13th, but my doc said that they'd induce me atleast a week early so that I don't have a baby over 10 lbs. I am planning on only being pregnant for 39 weeks or less, so they'd better hold up on their end of the deal!! We're really excited, scared, but excited. We keep mentioning it to Taylor but he just ignores us and keeps on playing. He has noticed that my belly is getting bigger and likes to pull up my shirt to hit it, we're working on correcting that!
