Splash Planet

On the second Monday of every month an indoor waterpark has a "mom-and tot" day. It's $3 for Taylor and I get in free. Otherwise it would cost about $16 for both of us to get in. We go every month and I'm always talking about the new things Taylor is doing to Matt that evening. Finally after the last time Matt said that he wanted to go adn he was going to take a vacation day and hang out with us and go swimming. Taylor enjoyed having his daddy there. He showed him all his spots he likes to go and how he slides down the slides and is not scared of the water at all! Matt and him played with a ball for at least half the two hours we were there. Taylor really liked that! Here are some pictures from our fun day! (I'm most proud of Taylor's follow through when he shoots!!!with BOTH hands!)

Only 11 days left. I'm starting to feel really big now. The doctor said that I was carrying a small baby, I said "WHAT?" He then went to look at my chart and asked how big my first was and I told him and then he started trying to back track. He asked me how tall I was and decided that I had the height to "hide" a big baby. I sure don't feel like he's hiding anywhere! Anyways, things are progressing which is good. He said that the induction should go really smoothly. I hope so!

p.s.- Taylor is still clueless. He's in for a world of shock!

My Mom's Having a Baby

So we took a trip to the library yesterday. My main goal was to get this book for Taylor explaining that his mom was going to have a baby. I found this title online and it was in the kids section so I figured it would be a good one. I didn't even look at it at the library because... well I just didn't. We got home and were busy doing other things, so we didn't get to read until bed time. Matt was reading to him and I brought in his new book, "My Mom's Having a Baby." I started looking through it while they finished another book. The baby in the book was going to be due in May, just like ours so I thought that was cool. Then I flipped to this page...(click on the picture if you want to read it)

I showed it to Matt and then read the bottom line, "but how do the sperm and egg get together, I wonder? " The little girl asks her mom this question and of course the answer is on the next page, in graphic detail.

Well, we figured this was a little over Taylor's head. The rest of it is pretty good, but too technical for Taylor. Taylor knows there's a baby in mommy's tummy, he doesn't understand the word uterus yet, and I think I'm ok with that. The book is going back to the library soon. After Taylor went to bed Matt informed me that I would have to give the "sex talks" to all our children, he just can't do it. Maybe we'll just check out this book again!

I've been meaning to post lately... and now it's been almost two weeks, sorry! Have you ever had one of those days where you have so much to do that you just sit down to decide a plan of attack and then never actually get up to do it? I have ALL these things that I need to get done, and I just feel like I'm going backwards and creating a mess behind me that I'll have to tack on to my list later...

Taylor and my project today was to sand a dresser for baby. I bought it for $22 and am going to refinish it to match the dresser I did for Taylor. Taylor has so many clothes that baby has no space, which means I can't put baby's clothes away yet because I don't have a space for them, so we just have to trip over the boxes for a little while longer! Taylor wanted to help... this was the best he came up with.

I'm having a baby in 18 days! It hit us really hard last night, adn therefore I couldn't fall asleep until 12:30 because I was thinking about all the things I needed to get done, which then overwhelmed me and carried into today. Hope you're more productive than I am, send your best wishes my way, we're kinda on the clock now!

Also coming soon... Matt took a half-day off of work to go swimming with Taylor and I at "mom-and-tot" day. There's some good pictures! I know you can't wait!

My friend Jess did an "art project" with her daughter (who's 2 months older than Taylor) the other day so I thought we could try it too. I got some magazines out and asked Taylor to point at pictures he liked... well, he doesn't quite have the attention span to pick out pictures, have me cut them out and then glue them to make a collage. Frustrated I went in to the computer room and had him pick out some pictures of trains that he liked off the internet. We colored those instead. My only conren with coloring is that he will ONLY use the red or orange! That's it. He organizes all the crayons so they are lined up touching each other and picks out the red or orange one. I'll try and offer him another color but he just holds it for a little while and then puts it back in line.
